If the Simulator fails to load, please visit your browser settings. For example, Firefox requires you to allow cookies from third-parties. Please see this image for reference. Other browsers can encounter the same issue, depending on the configured cookie settings.

Why do I see a 404 message when I try to log in?

If you clicked the Login button, entered your email address, and then received this response:

It's likely because your profile data was not migrated to our new authentication service. However, any content you created on the site has been preserved.

To resolve this issue, click the Create Free Account button in the header menu, enter the same email address you used previously, and then follow the instructions. Once you log in, you should have access to all your site data.

Why do I see the RS DesignSpark login screen when I try to log into PartQuest Explore?

This can happen when you have an account with both PartQuest Explore as well as our partner, RS DesignSpark. In this case, it is possible that you will be redirected to RS DesignSpark's login screen when you click the Login button on the PartQuest Explore site:

To resolve this, clear your browser's cookies and then click the Login button again.

If you don't want to clear all your cookies, your browser's settings might provide an option to manage data. If so, delete cookies from the following URLs:

• partquest.com
• siemens.com

Why can't I create or edit a design?

If you logged in, opened or created a design, and then saw the following login screen where the design should appear:

Open your browser settings, navigate to a section titled Privacy and Security (or something similar), allow third-party cookies (also referred to as cross-site cookies), and then reload the design.

Some browsers allow you to block third-party cookies except for a list of URLs that you provide. If you want to use this option, add the following to the list of URLs allowed to use third-party cookies:

• https://explore.partquest.com
• https://app.systemvision.com

PartQuest Explore is an online environment where analog, digital, and mixed-signal designs can be created, simulated, and shared. It is the perfect site to learn, work, and collaborate—all in one place, using the latest cloud-based technology. PartQuest Explore offers an online engineering community that allows subject-matter experts to work either independently or together. An open framework promotes crowd-sourced model libraries and designs, available to all. Community members can simply follow design activity, or they can actively curate and share content with their colleagues and friends. Users can build on each other’s work—in real time—allowing for rapid and collaborative prototyping.

Creating a design is easy and can be done without creating an account.  If you create an account, your designs will be saved so you will have access to them the next time you login.

No. With a free account you can create as many public designs as you want.

To prevent other users from seeing a design, it must be stored in a private group, which requires a subscription.  Refer to the Plans and Features section of the home page for more information.

Holding the shift key down while clicking on an object will add this object to the selected set. Holding the control key down while clicking on an object will toggle that object’s selection without changing anything else that is selected. If the object was selected, it will be deselected after you click with the control key pressed.

Yes, by pressing either the shift or control keys while you click and drag with the mouse. The shift key will add the enclosed items to the currently selected set. The control key will clear whatever is currently selected and select the enclosed items.

Press the shift key as you click on a portion of the wire. This will select the entire wire which can be deleted with the delete key.

PartQuest Explore is designed to be used as a desktop application for the creation and simulation of Electronic Schematics. Larger format tablets may also be used. We recommend a horizontal screen resolution of at least 1024 pixels.
