Embedding Export And Import

Embedding a design into a webpage

PartQuest Explore designs can easily be embedded into webpages for educational or marketing purposes.

To generate the HTML code to embed a design, open the right sidebar and click Copy code to embed design icon Copy code to embed design. This will copy the HTML code to your clipboard, which can then be pasted into an HTML document.

Note: a design must be publicly visible before it can be embedded. This means the design must be in a public or closed group, but not a private group.

Example of a PartQuest Explore design embedded in a webpage, showing the interactive schematic viewer with a waveform inset and an Edit in PartQuest Explore button

Embedded designs allow webpage visitors to interactively view the design, examine models and parameters, use waveform probes, and analyze results.

Export design as image

From the toolbar in the Schematic Editor, click on Export/Import icon Export/Import > Export as Image with Waveforms or Export as Image without Waveforms to download a .png image of the design that respectively includes or omits visible waveforms.

Export/Import design as JSON

  • To export a .zip file that contains the design in JSON format, click on Export/Import icon Export/Import > Export Design as JSON. This .json file includes both the schematic itself as well as any simulation results, waveforms, and probes.
  • To import a .json file into PartQuest Explore, create a new schematic and click on Export/Import icon Export/Import > Import Design as JSON and open the .json file. Note that if there is a pre-existing design in the Schematic Editor, it will not be preserved.

Export to Xpedition flow

Siemens Xpedition Designer is a PCB schematic capture tool, and HyperLynx AMS is a system simulation tool that runs in the Xpedition Designer environment. PartQuest Explore users may want to move their designs to the Designer/AMS environment for deeper simulation/analysis capabilities and a path to PCB layout and manufacturing.

  • From the toolbar in the Schematic Editor, click on Export/Import icon Export/Import > Export to Xpedition Flow to download the design as a .zip file that can be imported by Xpedition Designer.
  • Consult the HyperLynx AMS documentation and tutorials to learn how to import a design from PartQuest Explore. To access the relevant tutorial (HyperLynx AMS 2504 and after), use the Global Bar in the Xpedition Designer user interface and navigate to Simulation AMS > AMS Tutorial Index > How-To Tutorials > PartQuest Explore Design Import

View and export the design components list

  • To view the design components list, click on Design Settings icon Design Settings > Open Design Components List.
  • The design components list is a searchable list that contains all components used in the current design, along with important information such as their properties. Design Components List panel with a search field, Export to Excel and Export to PDF buttons, and a table of components and their properties
  • You can quickly locate a component in the schematic by double-clicking on its entry in the design components list.
  • To export the design components list as a .xlsx or .pdf file, use the Export to Excel or Export to PDF buttons next to the search field.
